United Motors Renegade Overview
The American bike major, United Motors Global is all set to introduce its Renegade range of motorcycles in India. Showcased at the Auto Expo, 2016, United Motors Renegade comes in three variants, namely, Sports S, Classic, and Commando. United Motors Renegade prices for all its variants would fall in the range between Rs.1.49 lakhs (first two variants) to Rs. 1.69 lakhs (Ex Showroom, New Delhi). Competing primarily against players like Royal Enfield and Harley Davidson, United Motors Renegade derives power from a single cylinder 279cc water cooled petrol powertrain in conjunction with a six speed mesh gearbox transmission system. The bike sports a masculine appeal thanks to its big round halogen headlamp, a LED tail lamp, wide handlebars, a beefy 18 litres fuel tank, and a split seat wide at the front and slightly raised at the rear with back support. The company, United Motors Renegade claims the bikes to be well suited to Indian riding conditions in terms of suspensions, ground clearance, wheelbase and seats. Belonging to the cruiser segment, United Motors Renegade colours are portrayed in three shades of Midnight Camo, Super Blackout and Baja Desert.
United Motors Renegade boasts dimensions of 2223mm in length, 883mm in width, 1050mm in height, and 1518mm in wheelbase, and rides on non alloy wheels having front and rear tyre sizes of 110/90-16 and 130/90-15, respectively. Moreover, the analog instrument console of the bike carries gauges such as speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter, odometer and fuel gauge. Shocks and jerks received from the surface are suitably cushioned by front hydraulic telescopic fork suspension and rear hydraulic spring suspension with dual shock absorbers, whereas ventilated disc and drum brakes at the front and rear wheels control the aggressive cruiser.

United Motors Renegade Engine & Transmission
The variants unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 ride on 279cc single cylinder water cooled petrol powertrain yielding maximum power and torque values of 25bhp at 85000rpm and 21.8Nm at 7000rpm, respectively. The butch engine is mated to a six speed synchronized mesh transmission gearbox system that transfers torque to the rear wheels through a chain driven mechanism.

As a cruiser is meant to traverse on any kind of terrain, it should be endowed with easy to reach controls, a beefy fuel tank, a sturdy suspension system, good ground clearance and a comfortable seat. And in all these aspects, United Motors Renegade can be ticked in all the right boxes. The bike can be brought to an instant start with its electric switch and thanks to a pillion footrest, back support and a grab rail, riding pillion would be a breeze. An easy to reach handlebar with clear rear view mirrors would help the rider to not only manoeuvre the bike without any hassle but also keep a sharp eye on the vehicles behind.
